The clients own a 2400 SF 1960’s vintage house, located on an up and coming street in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle which possesses a wonderful view of Mt Rainier. We will take the house down and use the existing foundation, adding nine feet to the East building face. The lot, with some creative prodding will allow us to build five thousand SF on three floors, including an ADU rental of about eight hundred SF.
The goal is to keep the build cost in check yet incorporate touches of high-end materials at the key points. With an open floor plan the owners will have the ability to move furniture to change an area’s use from dining to sitting and back again as they like.
The sliding door system at the East end of the home will allow a large covered area to serve as the deck in nice weather. The lower floor will have a master bedroom with en-suite soaking tub and separate walk-in spa shower.
